Although Cecil Solidarity cannot directly help everyone in need, it is our mission to be a support system for the community. Below is a  list of trusted resources, which we will continue to expand on as we find and vet reputable organizations.  

LGBTQIA+

Cecil County LGBTQ+ Alliance
Created to build our community in Cecil County by working for equality with other local groups who have the shared vision of equality for all

Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride
Provides unwavering advocacy and support for queer (LGBTQIA+) people, communities, and their families in Cecil and Harford Counties

Health Insurance

Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association
Established to help provide relief for those experiencing financial emergencies, hunger, education challenges and access to medical care

Maryland Health Connection
The Maryland Health Connection is the health insurance marketplace that’s offered to individuals and families who are not covered through their employers

Addiction/Recovery

Voices of Hope
A non-profit organization made of people in recovery, family members and allies who advocate for behavioral health disorder prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery resources, help eliminate the stigma of addiction through outreach events and education and support all pathways of recovery

Social Justice

Bowers Law (expungement)

Harford County Freedom Reclaimed
A grassroots organization that aims to defend, protect, and further the sociopolitical rights of all marginalized peoples and is proudly led by Black women

Cecil Freedom Fund
Launched to provide bail assistance to make freedom accessible to everyone in Cecil County

Families and Children

The Bridge
Cecil County’s Domestic Violence Rape Crisis Center that provides comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, rape, and sexual violence

CASA of Cecil County
Established to advocate for and support abused and neglected children in the court system, while ensuring their right to safe, stable, permanent homes

Cecil County Community Mediation Center
Created to provide free, confidential, and effective conflict resolution services through mediation, education, and training to promote respectful dispute resolution in Cecil County 

Deep Roots
Serving as a homeless shelter for children and families in the community and provides training and children’s activities

 

Animal Care

Cecil County Animal Services
Launched a program to extend help with housing pets to people in crisis and help with finding lost cost of free spay and neuter for pets and community service opportunities

Lola’s Landing Animal Rescue, Inc.
Offering food for those in the community in need and delivery

Faith-based

The Paris Foundation
Provides an evening meal seven days a week. Clothing, shoes, personal care items, and “survival gear” are distributed from our temporary quarters at the Meeting Ground.

 Meeting Ground
An organization that responds to the needs of homeless people through transitional housing for single women and children, men, food services and more

 Lion of Judah Bible Café
Provides free books, free Saturday buffet lunch, and offers bible studies
