We’ve consistently been at it now since May 30 and have peacefully canvassed our local streets every weekend to decry the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others.
What has started out as protests against racial injustices and police brutality has now morphed into something much stronger, more impactful and more powerful than what any of us ever imagined. Together, we’re fighting for a better Cecil County and ultimately a better world where we can ALL exist and thrive.
As many have already said: this isn’t a moment; it’s a movement. And the work that we’re doing to uncover uncomfortable truths in our County and the actions we’re pushing for to dismantle barriers to equality in our County is critical. To ensure that we’re all on the same page, and that our collective efforts and energies are aligned, we’re proud to share with you our official mission and vision statements.
These statements will help guide our continued efforts of moving our County forward. So, it’s important that you all keep them in mind as well as our Code of Conduct when acting on behalf of Cecil Solidarity. We cannot allow our message to be misconstrued and our peaceful efforts to bring about meaningful change to be in vain.
You’ll notice that we’ve also provided additional details about our demands for local police and education reform. This will help you better understand the specific policy and procedural changes we’re seeking. As you can see, our work is too important and we must stay focused and keep our foot on the gas.

If you have stories about misconduct with local police officers or businesses, we ask that you do not post it on this page and instead reach out to us directly so we can work with you to determine the best course of action.
